Adam Idah was straight off the celebrate, there was utter delirium in the stands but Callum McGregor was immediately concerned.

As the on-loan Norwich striker scored the winner for Celtic against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final, McGregor was waiting for the offside to be raised or a dreaded VAR check to come.

Thankfully for the Celtic captain, his fears were eased as Idah sealed a Scottish Cup victory for Brendan Rodgers' side.

The grinning Celtic skipper admitted his immediate thoughts were that the goal would not stand when asked for his emotions during the winning moment.

"I thought he was offside," chuckled McGregor. "I actually thought he was offside!

"I knew it was going to have to be a good finish because [Jack] Butland makes himself big, and to be fair it's a great finish he goes under him.

"He's probably the one player you fancy in that situation, I was just hoping he wasn't offside and with VAR and everything, it's cool.

"Amazing to see the ball hitting the back of the net on the stroke of 90 minutes as well. Delighted with that.

"And then you knew the hard work was going to be from there in the eight or nine minutes of extra time."
