Jose Cordoba cut an emotional figure as he bid farewell to Levski Sofia amid transfer interest from Rangers.

Philippe Clement has made the Panamanian centre-back a top target this summer.

It's understood the Ibrox club are in the driving seat to complete a move for the 22-year-old, however, reports in Bulgaria have suggested Norwich City are also keen.

It is expected that Cordoba - who was given a tour of Ibrox earlier this month before watching Rangers defeat Kilmarnock - will become the club's second summer signing, with Brazilian left-back Jefte already in the building.

And it seems that day may be edging closer after the end of Levski Sofia's season in the Bulgarian top flight.

They defeated champions Ludogorets in their final game, as the curtain was brought down on a decent campaign for the capital club as they consolidated fourth spot.

And TV camera crews didn't miss a trick as they panned directly onto Cordoba as soon as the full-time whistle went, with the defender waving an emotional goodbye to his Levski teammates and the club's supporters.

A post on X reads: "Jose Cordoba's season with Levski Sofia ended. In their final match they beat Ludogorets 1-0.

"At the end of the game, the cameras focused only on Jose Cordoba, who said an emotional goodbye to all his teammates with hugs and applause."

It appears the player was letting his emotions out following his final game for the club where he has spent the last three years.

Clement is preparing for a busy summer of activity with another first-team squad overhaul required.

The manager confirmed prior to the Scottish Cup final against Celtic that Borna Barisic would leave, with a deal to join Trabzonspor already agreed.

John Lundstram is expected to join him in Turkey, meanwhile, Kemar Roofe is another stalwart who will leave at the end of his contract next month.
