If there was already a desire for Celtic to make on-loan striker Adam Idah's position at the club permanent among supporters, the striker's last-minute Scottish Cup final-winning goal against Rangers kicked that appetite up a few notches.

With eight goals to his name since signing on loan from Norwich City during the January transfer window, the 23-year-old has endeared himself to the Paradise faithful by stepping up in big moments this season.

No stage was bigger than Saturday's showpiece encounter at the national stadium, after which the striker was seen looking visibly emotional as the Celtic support sang You'll Never Walk Alone to the players and staff lined up on the pitch.

Posted on Reddit under the thread heading 'Whatever Norwich want, we pay' - that's chock-full of praise for the Irishman - one user said: "It felt like he was underused this season and whenever he came in, he produced. Tough spot with him and Kyogo vying for the same spot essentially."

Another commented: "That impact sub role is something we have lacked at times and he filled it well. Well worth the 6 million Norwich are asking… plus the defenders have to change from dealing with the pace of Kyogo to the physicality of Idah, that's a massive challenge. A big change and it is working wonders."

Other fans made comparisons between the £5 million fee it's believed Celtic paid for forward Albian Ajeti in 2020, and the reported £5-6 million price tag Idah's parent club Norwich City have placed on the striker.

During The Celtic Way's latest morning briefing, Hamish, Tony and Ryan made the case for both Idah and Paulo Bernardo's positions at Parkhead being made permanent this summer.

It was the Portuguese midfielder who drove into the heart of the Rangers backline, before firing off the shot that Jack Butland spilled into the path of Idah.

Back on Reddit, another user added: "He's an enigma and chaos merchant like Daizen, but also a big match player. I never wrote him off, I wasn't 100% sold on him but he has 100% earned his hoops, and I'd love to see him sign permanently.

"Bring him home Mr Desmond! Bring him home."
