Hibernian players will wear black armbands in tribute to the late Sir Tom Farmer.
The founder of Kwik Fit and former Hibs owner died at the age of 84.
Sir Tom was hailed as the club's saviour for his 28-year ownership, after acquiring a major shareholding in 1990.
This was in response to Hearts owner Wallace Mercer's attempt at a hostile takeover.
A Hibs social media post read: "Hibernian FC are devastated to hear of the passing of former owner Sir Tom Farmer, aged 84.
"Thank you for everything, Tom.
"Rest in peace."
His grandfather, Philip Farmer, had saved the club from bankruptcy a century earlier.
A family spokesperson said: "Sir Tom died peacefully at home in Edinburgh on Friday, May 9.
"Sir Tom's long and extensive career touched many aspects of Scottish and UK life.
"His business career is well documented, as was his commitment to philanthropy, his many public roles, and his unwavering support and appreciation for the communities and people that he lived his life within."
The black armbands will be worn at the Scottish Premiership match against Celtic at Parkhead this afternoon, as confirmed by BBC commentator Liam McLeod on Sportsound.
