Celtic made eight changes to their starting line-up for the match against Aberdeen.
Brendan Rodgers's side saw a vast overhaul, with only Anthony Ralston, Callum McGregor, and Auston Trusty retaining their positions from the previous win over Hibernian.
The fresh faces in the starting XI were Valjami Sinialo, Maik Nawrocki, Jeffrey Schlupp, Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo, James Forrest, Yang, and Johnny Kenny.
Chris Sutton reacted to the news with a blunt two-word verdict, posting "Celtic Reserves" on social media platform X.
Rodgers had hinted at the changes following the Hibs match. He said: "Cam (Carter-Vickers) would miss this game, but hopefully, he will be okay for the weekend.
"Ali Johnston is back. Daizen Maeda, we're recovering. He came in this morning with a little niggle.
"He trained, but we're keeping him here just to get him treatment and make sure he's okay for the weekend and the following week.
"So there's no need to take any risk with him. Apart from that, the same squad."
CELTIC XI: Sinisalo, Ralston, Trusty, Nawrocki, Schlupp, McGregor, McCowan, Bernardo, Forrest, Yang, Kenny.
SUBS: Schmeichel, Johnston, Taylor, Scales, Idah, Kuhn, Engels, Hatate, McArdle.
