A move to become Rangers manager for Davide Ancelotti is "99 per cent done", according to reports in Italy.
Yesterday, the Herald revealed Francesco Farioli was a new name in the frame for Gers after holding talks with club chiefs last week.
He was added into the mix alongside Ancelotti and Russell Martin after former Light Blues boss Steven Gerrard riled himself out of a return.
Ancelotti was viewed as a frontrunner, including by bookies who slashed odds on him, and was believed to be very keen on the job.
And it is now being claimed a deal to bring the Italian to Scotland is very close.

Sestaporta in Italy is reporting it is 99 per cent done as Ancelotti has been ruled out of taking over at Pisa.
The 35-year-old has a friendship with Pisa owner Giovanni Corrado and it is believed he will manage them one day.
Ancelotti also had other opportunities on the table, including a move to Spain with Deportivo la Coruna.
But it looks as if he may choose Rangers and head for Ibrox.
