Ally McCoist has shared his thoughts on Russell Martin potentially becoming Rangers' new head coach.
The 39-year-old, who has previously managed MK Dons, Swansea City, and Southampton, is the leading candidate to replace Philippe Clement.
Rangers legend McCoist stressed the urgency of appointing a new permanent boss at the club, stating on talkSport: "It’s imperative it gets done ASAP."

He added: "However, it was never, ever going to get done before the sale of the club and the new owners came in."
Last week, a consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises acquired a 51 per cent stake in Rangers and immediately invested £20 million into the club.
Martin could be the person they choose for the managerial role.
When asked if Martin's appointment would be 'underwhelming', McCoist said: "He [Martin] came up for a while - but that is the term that was used, underwhelming.
"But you have got to give him a chance."
Kevin Thelwell, Rangers' new sporting director, has revealed that the club hopes to appoint a new head coach in the coming days.
He said: "It’s a great honour to be joining Rangers, particularly at such an exciting moment in the club’s history.
"While there has been significant work going on in the background prior to my arrival, that naturally accelerates from today, and top of the priority list will be the appointment of a new head coach for our men’s first-team.
"That search has been progressing well, and the club and I look forward to bringing that to a conclusion in the coming days.
"This is a new chapter for Rangers, and while we recognise success won’t come easy, our goal is clear: we need to win.
"My focus is on delivering that, with discipline and ambition.
"We’ll give everything to move this club forward as quickly and sustainably as we can."
