Rangers had Lennon Miller bid rejected by Motherwell

The bid has gone unreported until now, but it is claimed the Ibrox club lodged a verbal bid with their Premiership rivals for a player now coveted by clubs around Europe, including in the 'big five' leagues.

The Scotland sensation has drawn scouts from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, while Serie A side Udinese had two offers rejected in January.

The Steelmen have accepted the 18-year-old is destined for bigger things and will be moving on this summer. They are holding out for in excess of £4m.

Celtic and Rangers have both been credited with an interest but the player is excited by the prospect of a move abroad with several clubs circling.

The Hoops are thought to be at the table, though, and keen to be kept abreast of any developments.

A report in the Daily Record has stated that Rangers submitted that £1m offer 15 months ago - swiftly knocked back by Fir Park chiefs.

However, the report adds that the Ibrox club have had absolutely no contact with Motherwell over the player since.

While clubs around the continent queue up to sign the Scottish talent, there hasn't been a single further enquiry from Gers.

And it looks like he will slip through their fingers and head overseas.
