Trabzonspor are interested in a potential swoop for Rangers defender John Souttar, according to reports in Turkey.

The centre back only has a year left on his Ibrox deal and previously had an offer of a new deal on the table, which remained unsigned. It is unclear what the situation is now under new boss Russell Martin.

After Philippe Clement was sacked, Souttar admitted all discussions over his future were on hold while the club went through an uncertain period.

Now, there is serious interest from Trabzonspor, according to Ajansspor.

Rangers have already signed two central defenders, Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez, and want a third in Conor Coady. Another may be required should the Turkish side swoop for Souttar.

Currently on the books at Trabzon are former Light Blues duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic.

Both could be on their way out though, particularly Barisic who has barely featured since moving a year ago. Lundstram has found his merit to the team questioned and could face an uncertain future too.
