Rangers' Nedim Bajrami hopes international form can boost club career.

The out-of-favour midfielder has only started one game for his club this season, featuring briefly in five others.

He has only played 31 minutes in the Premiership this season with Russell Martin preferring other options.

Bajrami's situation worsened when he was excluded from the Europa League squad for the league phase.

However, the 26-year-old started both of Albania's games in the international break as they beat Gibraltar and Latvia.

Bajrami, who made 28 league appearances last season, is now optimistic about getting more playing time at Rangers.

He said: "It was really good for me to start both games because I have not been playing a lot of football recently at Rangers.

"I felt like it was important I showed what I could do again and took my chance.

"I believe I repaid the manager with my performances.

"We are all delighted with the two victories and it sets us up for a huge game against Serbia next month.

"It is important for me to return to my club and work hard and focus there."
