Rangers forward Youssef Chermiti scored his first goal in 572 days.

He netted for Portugal's Under-21s in their 11-0 win over Gibraltar in the Euro qualifiers.

He came off the bench and found the net within two minutes, scoring the eighth goal in the 70th minute.

This marked his first goal since March 21, 2024, also on international duty.

Chermiti, who joined Rangers from Everton for £8 million in the summer transfer window, will be hoping this goal gives him confidence for club action.

Rangers face Dundee United on Saturday.

He will be aiming to repay the faith shown in him by Kevin Thelwell after his big-money move.

Before Russell Martin left the club, Bojan Miovski was the preferred option at the club for the lone striker position.
