A tribunal will decide how much Rangers must pay Dundee for Lyall Cameron.

The two clubs have failed to reach an agreement on the fee, it is being reported.

Cameron moved to Ibrox stadium under freedom of contract when his Dens Park deal ended last summer.

As the player was under 23 and offered improved terms by Dundee, a compensation package is required.

When clubs can’t agree on the sum, the matter goes to a tribunal.

The case lingered for almost a year after Rangers announced his pre-contract signing back in January of this year.

Cameron officially joined Rangers in June.

The Courier has reported that negotiations between the clubs have been ongoing, but with no resolution, tribunal proceedings have now commenced.

Dundee manager Steven Pressley has voiced his concerns about the system and believes players shouldn’t play for new clubs if the fee hasn’t been settled.

Pressley said: "I think the current system's wrong.

"I don’t think a player should be playing for an opponent or an opposition team without the selling club having received some form of compensation.

"So the current system, in my opinion, is flawed."
