Rangers will pay a fee of around £9 million if they exercise their option to sign Andreas Skov Olsen in the summer.

The Denmark international has agreed a switch to Ibrox for the second half of the season and official confirmation of the move is expected imminently, as per the Rangers Review.

Skov Olsen currently plays for Wolfsburg, but Rangers have negotiated a potential loan-to-buy agreement for him.

Wolfsburg will take a loss on the £12 million they paid Club Brugge to sign Skov Olsen last summer.

The arrival of the 26-year-old is a significant boost for boss Danny Rohl as he gears up for the second half of the campaign. Rangers are six points off the pace being set by Hearts in the Premiership.

Discussing the potential acquisition of Skov Olsen, Mr Rohl said: "I'm not a good poker player, yeah," ... "But now we are in the process, it looks very positive. But as long as it's not confirmed and everything is through, then I cannot tell you too much.”

He added that he was looking for "a left foot on the right side."

"He had a lot of goals in Brugge, and now it's about us. If he comes, if we bring him back to his best performance, and if he can do this, then of course he could be a great loan signing."

Skov Olsen's arrival is seen as a statement of intent from chairman Andrew Cavenagh and the Ibrox recruitment team.
