Harry Forrester joined Rangers on loan, won the Championship title within months and then made his move permanent in a whirlwind start to life in Glasgow.

The attacking midfielder was highly rated and tipped to make a big impact at Ibrox having been on the books of Aston Villa and Brentford and turning down a move to Ajax in between those two spells.

A loan at Kilmarnock during his Villa days passed without much excitement but he had scored goals in League One for the Bees and Doncaster Rovers before pitching up at Rangers under Mark Warburton.

He made all the right noises saying it was a privilege to join 'one of the biggest teams in Europe' and that he wanted to stay longer than his initial six-month deal.

His first goal came the following month and was a crucial last minute winner, one of five in that first half season.

Despite his season ending early after picking up a hairline fracture in the Challenge Cup final win over Peterhead which ended his season, he signed a three-year deal for a permanent move three days later.

The following season wasn't as productive, scoring three goals in all competitions as the club finished third in their first campaign back in the top flight.

By then, Warburton had been sacked and replaced by Pedro Caixinha, and the Portuguese told Forrester to find a new club that summer, just a year on from clinching his permanent move.

That initially meant a loan back in League One with AFC Wimbledon, and at the end of that came a bizarre move to Azerbaijani side Tractor in the Persian Gulf Pro League.

He would later represent Machine Sazi in that same division before moving on to Orange County SC, who previously had links to Rangers.

He would also end up playing for Los Angeles Force in the National Independent Soccer Association league.

After announcing his retirement in 2022, he set up his own coaching business, called Prospect Soccer Academy, in Florida along with ex-Rangers teammate Rob Kiernan.

Describing what they do on LinkedIn, Forrester says: "I’ve had the privilege of learning from elite systems and world-class mentors. Today, I channel that experience into Prospect Soccer Academy, a full-time elite program I founded in Southern California to bridge professional-level training with academic excellence and character development.

"At Prospect, we don’t just develop players — we build future leaders. From guiding young athletes to MLS academies, NCAA programs, and pro trials, to creating a curriculum that supports their growth on and off the pitch, I believe in coaching the whole person."
