St Mirren plan to 'exploit' Celtic this weekend at Hampden

This fifth encounter of the season comes after their Premier Sports Cup final victory last December. Interim manager Craig McLeish intends to execute a strategic game plan against Celtic.

He said: "The [Hampden] pitch was always in good condition. [East Kilbride News]

"It’s a massive pitch, and we have to be aware of both sides of that.

"Celtic will have periods where they control the game, but we have to make use of the size of the pitch as well, especially with how we’re looking to try and play.

"We have to exploit spaces and use the pitch to our advantage as well."

Their determined approach comes a mere eight days after their last encounter with Celtic in Glasgow.

The tactical preparation heavily leans on the utilisation of the Hampden pitch's size.

According to McLeish, this will play a crucial role in their strategy to counter Celtic's play, acknowledging the likely spells of dominance Celtic may have during the game.
