Celtic missed out on signing Elias Filet after stalling in transfer talks with the striker's representatives.

The 24-year-old Frenchman, who starred for Aarau last season, was reportedly keen on a move to the Scottish champions.

However, he will not be playing at Parkhead next season, as he opted to join Belgian side RAAL La Louviere.

CeltsAreHere claim discussions were held over a video call with the player and his representatives.

However, his camp decided the club were moving too slowly and sought opportunities elsewhere.

Filet, who was the Swiss second tier's player of the year, wanted to secure his new club before pre-season.

With Celtic's squad set to return on Friday, concerns about the pace of negotiations led him to choose La Louviere.

The striker was on Celtic's radar after an impressive season in Switzerland.
