Findlay Curtis has been praised for setting "good standards" at Rangers.

Ian Durrant, a Rangers legend, commended the 20-year-old winger after he assisted four goals for Scotland under-21s in a win over Azerbaijan.

Curtis has also been a regular feature for Rangers this season.

His current form follows a successful loan stint at Kilmarnock last season, during which he bagged five goals, contributing to the team's improved form.

Durrant told the 5Stars podcast: "The best thing for Findlay was going to Kilmarnock on loan last season and getting game time against men.

"He got up to speed in terms of the physicality and pace of the game.

"Findlay could have stayed at Rangers and not played.

"Instead, he went down to Rugby Park and got a run of games for four months."

Durrant acknowledged Curtis's desire for more starting opportunities but praised his role as an "impact player".

He said: "Findlay's been great and he's setting a good standards for the other young players at the club to follow."

The former Rangers star urged the team to build on their recent victories over Celtic with more wins.

He said: "Hopefully they'll be champing at the bit to get to that game.

"There will be another full house and the opportunity to go top of the league."

He noted the continuity in the team under Derek and the strong performances against Celtic, a side he described as "very good".

He said: "Who knows, in the next league game we could go top of the league when a few weeks ago we could have been eight points behind."

However, Durrant also emphasised the importance of consistency.

He said: "There's no use doing that against Celtic in the cup and league if you don't back it up.

"There are now games you're expected to win.

"Derek will get the players back and get them focused on the league."
