Rangers legend Ally McCoist has issued a plea to appear on BBC show Celebrity Traitors.

The 64-year-old former striker declared he is ready to enter the castle if producers come calling.

Speaking to talkSPORT Bet, McCoist admitted his family are devoted viewers of the hit programme.

McCoist said: "Would I go on Celebrity Traitors? Aye, absolutely!

"The family and I love watching it.

"My only issue would be keeping a straight face, but if Alan Carr can manage it, there's hope for the rest of us!"

He added: "So this is my come-and-get-me plea to Celebrity Traitors, I'm when you are!"

Celebrity Traitors is filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.

The psychological reality series sees contestants gather at Ardross Castle in the Highlands to root out secret traitors among the group.

While McCoist is eager to head to the castle, he has firmly resisted pitches from other television programmes.

ITV bosses approached the ex-Rangers star to enter the Australian jungle for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

McCoist turned down the approach, pointing out that his fear of bugs kept him away from the camp trials.
