Petershill eased their way into the Euroscot Eng League Cup quarter-finals last night after securing a 1-0 victory in their crunch Section Three decider at home to Shettleston.
The Springburn outfit got away to a dream start, scoring with just under five minutes on the clock when Chris Craig sent in a left wing cross that midfielder Darren McLean gleefully lashed into the net.
The visitors could well have found themselves further behind but for goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell producing a couple of decent stops to deny Craig and Kieran Daw resulting in half time being reached with the scoreline reading 1-0.
Goalmouth action was at a premium in a second period punctuated with stoppages and the Peasy comfortably saw the game out to set up a last eight clash against city rivals Pollok at Newlandsfield tomorrow night
