There’s to be no licking of wounds time for Hurlford as they are straight back into action tonight when hosting the visit of Super Premier Division frontrunners Troon in a vital league match.
The six games fewer played Ford will be seeking to close the current 11 points gap existing between the clubs while Troon will themselves be out to atone for Saturday’s 3-2 reverse away to Arthurlie where the Ayrshiremen twice led through Jordan Muir goals only to be pegged back each time by Gavin Rushord counters for the relegation battling Barrhead side whose greater desire for the points led to a dramatic winner from substitute Chris Mackie.
Also in action are Kilbirnie Ladeside ,another side nursing title ambitions following their 4-0 victory over Rob Roy in which winger Caolan McAleer bagged a brace along with goals from Kevin Forde and Martin Grehan.
The sixth placed Blasties await the visit of bottom markers Irvine Meadow while Glenafton , fresh from overcoming eight man Petershill 1-0 through a J.P. Boyle second half score will be going up against reigning champions and title favourites Auchinleck Talbot at Loch Park.
Elsewhere , leading Super First Division promotion challengers Kilwinning Rangers , Clydebank and Cumnock are likewise tasked with crunch contests in what promises to be a terrific night of Junior football action.
