WEST Region champions Auchinleck Talbot and Scottish Junior Cup winners Beith were set on a collision course when the First and Second Round preliminary draws were made for the William Hill Scottish Cup at Coldstream Castle yesterday.
An Ayrshire contest that will not be for the faint hearted is promised if Talbot can overcome first up opponents Wigtown and Bladnoch and earn a Bellsdale Park showdown with Beith assuming Johnny Millar’s men prevail against first round adversaries Newton Stewart.
Scotland internationalist and Hibernian Ladies captain Joelle Murray, assisted SFA president Alan McRae in making the draw along with Coldstream Museum assistant curator, Andrew Tulloch and they didn’t disappoint with some potentially meaty pairings which by and large appears to favour the Junior representatives though Scottish Amateur Cup winners Colville Park will fancy their chances of making the hat for the Preliminary Round Three.
