ALI CRAWFORD hopes focusing on the bigger picture at New Douglas Park will help Hamilton rediscover their Premiership form.

Accies are in the midst of a miserable run which has seen them pick up just three points from their last 10 top-flight outings, and they head into the Lanarkshire derby with Motherwell tomorrow night in urgent need of a return to winning ways.

It has been a frustrating start to life in the dugout for boss Martin Canning, who remains determined to look at the positives in a bid to spark his side into life.

The Hamilton gaffer takes a studious approach to the analytical side of the game and midfielder Crawford reckons their time in front of the TV will pay off sooner rather than later.

He said: "The manager takes the positives from every game. He shows us the DVD and clips of matches and we go over what we did well and where things went wrong.

"We analyse every game and the chances for and against, and it is not easy to watch at times. We know the early-season stuff is there, but he has not shown us a montage of that yet.

"We know if we can recapture that form then hopefully the top six will be within our reach. It is good not to focus on the negatives all the time and that gives the players a boost.

"It would be bitterly disappointing to lose out on a top-six place now after the way we started the season and the way we were come January when people were even touting us for Europe.

"At the turn of the year a top-six spot was well within our grasp and achievable, but the run we have been on is not the best, and to not cement a top-half finish would be a massive blow to us."
