VICTOR PALOVAARA says he'll help Glasgow shine this weekend - as long as the rain stays away!
The 21-year-old Swede can't wait to get back on a bike after his last few planned appearances for the Tigers were a washout.
And Palovaara could be a key man for the Ashfield side in their double-header against Newcastle.
He has already scored well from reserve at home, and took a liking to the old Brough Park track on his last visit there - when he beat top Diamonds rider and fellow-countryman Ludvig Lindgren.
The Sweden Under-21 star said: "It has been a little bit frustrating to fly in and not get any meetings. I haven't even had many meetings in Sweden as it's been bad weather there as well.
"But I did have some action this week - it's been really good and I hope to keep doing well.
"It's going to be fun to be back for Glasgow. Hopefully the rain stays away. I think the team has been doing well, but we can do more."
Looking to Monday's match - the Tigers' first away league meeting of the season - Palovaara said: "I had some good heats there last year. I think the track at Newcastle is good when you're in front, but it's really hard to pass.
"Some of the tracks here are hard to go to, because there's a big difference from what I'm used to in Sweden, but it's a very good experience.
"I always try to get better and better, so I'm looking forward to it. Ludvig is a good rider - but I will give it a go and try to beat him again."
Sunday's match is a 3pm start - with the weather set fair - while the tapes go up at the Newcastle Stadium at 6.30pm on Monday.
