Glasgow Clan forward Scott Pitt has his sights set on finally reaching the Elite League play-off finals after agreeing to return to the club for next season.

The 31-year-old is the latest name to sign on for Pete Russell’s team as he prepares for his fifth campaign for the Clan and he’s desperate the scratch the itch of having never qualified for the final four weekend in his five years playing in the Elite League, including a season at Manchester Storm

“I really want to make it to the play-off finals and it’s something I’ve never managed to do in my time here,” he said. “I’m zero-for-five so and that’s my biggest goal. This is the year for me.

“Overall, as a team, we want to win the league. That’s the main goal every year and I think we’ll have a chance. Even going as far as we did in the Challenge Cup, we’re capable of taking the next step.

Pitt, who has scored 121 goals and made 156 assists and is the all-time top scorer in the Clan’s history, revealed what it was like to work under Russell, admitting he’s looking forward to continue the relationship with him.

He added: “Pete is a great coach to work with and every day, he was cracking jokes and keeping things light, but at the same time, he takes things very seriously. He always made sure we were ready for games, but he’s a lot of fun to play for and I’m looking forward to working with him again.”
