Scottish teenager Ryan Gauld grabbed his first two goals for Sporting Lisbon last night - but still ended up on the losing side after the Portuguese giants fell to a 3-2 defeat to Belenenses in the League Cup.
Making his third successive start in the competition, the former Dundee United midfielder netted in the sixth and 19th minute to give the away side a commanding lead.
But the hosts struck back before the break and added two more goals following the restart to spoil the 19-year-old's evening.
Gauld, who moved to Lisbon from Tannadice in a £3million move last summer, is slowly becoming an integral part of Marco Silva's first team after also making his league debut as a substitute in Sunday's win over Rio Ave.
The playmaker, who featured for the full 90 minutes last night, also started the cup victory over Vitoria Guimaraes was named man of the match in the recent win over Boavista.
