To mark Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup final between Falkirk and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, we look back at 18 finals from the past - six involving non-Old Firm teams, six won by Rangers, and six won by Celtic.

Rangers 3-1 Dundee, 1964

A classic Rangers team - Ritchie, Shearer, Provan, Greig, McKinnon, Baxter, Henderson, McLean, Millar, Brand and Wilson - recorded a commanding victory over a great Dundee side, thanks to two goals from Jimmy Millar and one by Ralph Brand. To many, however, this is still known as the 'Bert Slater final', after the heroics performed by the Dundee keeper.

Rangers 3-2 Celtic, 1973

The year after they lifted the European Cup Winners' Cup, Rangers added to their silverware collection with the centenary Scottish Cup. This was a determined win over their deadliest rivals, Tam Forsyth famously scuffing the ball into the net from six yards, with the score tied at 2-each.

Rangers 5-1 Hearts, 1996

The 'Laudrup Final', as it was known. Gordon Durie may have scored a hat-trick in this demolition of Hearts, but it was Brian Laudrup's outstanding display, capped by two goals, that really caught the eye. The Great Dane later recalled: "That final against Hearts in 1996 was a fantastic performance from everybody involved ... [it] stands out for me as one of my best games in a light blue shirt."

Rangers 1-0 Celtic, 1999

Just weeks after winning the league at Celtic Park, Rangers completed the domestic treble thanks to Rod Wallace's goal just after the interval - not a bad reflection on the fact that this was Dick Advocaat's first season as coach. Celtic - Morten Wieghorst, Henrik Larsson, Lubomir Moravcik, et al - just couldn't find a way back.

Rangers 4-0 Aberdeen, 2000

'Gers fans created a 'sea of Orange' in tribute to the team's Dutch influence. The bookies had made Rangers the favourites, and when Aberdeen keeper Jim Leighton was stretchered off injured after just two minutes, the game was more or less over. Striker Robbie Winters took over from Leighton; Rangers ran riot, scoring through Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Tony Vidmar, Billy Dodds and Jorg Albertz.

Rangers 3-2 Celtic, 2002

Celtic had been twice been in the lead, via goals from John Hartson and Bobo Balde, but Rangers rallied superbly, Peter Lovenkrands and Barry Ferguson restoring parity before Lovenkrands popped up just 10 seconds from the end to give Alex McLeish the Scottish Cup to add to the CIS Insurance Cup. Celtic were thus denied a league and cup double.
