Kemar Roofe has broken his silence in the aftermath of his latest injury setback.

The Rangers striker, who was subbed on in the Viaplay Cup semi-final against Aberdeen on Sunday, had to be taken off a short while after netting the winner at Hampden.

It's the latest injury concern the forward has suffered in recent months. The Jamaica international appeared to land heavily on his shoulder.

He unexpectedly recovered to play a part in last season's Europa League final despite being ruled out for much of last year's run-in.

However, this would prove to be his last action for months, as he missed pre-season and the vast majority of the opening stages of this campaign.

Ready to return in October, the former Leeds man was hit with another injury worry.

Now, it would appear uncertain just how long the 28-year-old will be out of action for.

Michael Beale said: "It is a real sore one. He has had the scan and he is going to see somebody else, to get a second opinion. It is an injury he has had on the other side previously but it is not a break in terms of dislocation.

"There is a bit of a separation at the top, that just needs to take its time. For some people it is less time, for other people it is more. It is how Kemar feels in the coming days and weeks."

On his Instagram story, Roofe has posted what seems to be an inspirational quote of sorts, attributed to a Goi Nasu.

It reads: "Before you go to sleep tonight I want you to remember that an entire sea of water can't sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can't put you down unless you allow it to get inside your head."
