The Frenchman signed for the Ligue 1 outfit on transfer deadline day.
But, their manager Andreas Villas-boas, formally of Chelsea and Tottenham, claimed he did not want to sign the Celtic man. Villas-boas has since been suspended by the club.
“It’s not a decision I’d taken, I heard about it this morning in the press when I woke up,” Villas-Boas said in a press conference, reported by L’Equipe.
“He’s a player I said no to. He wasn’t on my list, I wasn’t going for him."

Je suis très heureux d’avoir rejoint la famille Marseillaise @OM_Officiel ! C’est un plaisir d’honorer le maillot d’un grand club tel que #Marseille ! #DroitAuBut
