A fundraiser has been launched for the family of 33-year-old woman after her "devastating" death.

Louise Aitchison, 33, was found within her East Kilbride home and pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

A family friend set up the GoFundMe fundraiser to help support her family "through this horrible time".

The funds will go towards the funeral costs for the "beautiful" Louise.

Louise was described as a "saint" to for her younger sister Stephanie and was well known in the East Kilbride community.

Within 17 hours of the launch of the fundraiser, it had passed its goal of £1500.

It reads: "On Friday, May 1, 2020, I woke up to the devastating news that my best friend Stephanie's sister Louise was cruelly taken before her time.

"At this time Caroline, Stephanie and Sean are absolutely devastated but worried about the upcoming pressures of organising and covering the costs of Louise funeral, especially at this already difficult time.

"I met Louise many years ago through her younger sister Stephanie. Louise was a saint for Steph and made sure her disability didn't stop her from doing her thing!

"She was also very well known in her home town of East Kilbride so I'm hoping friends, neighbours and the local community can rally together and help get this poor family through this tragic time that's why I'm asking you to please dig deep and spare what you can to help towards the costs of the family saying goodbye to their beautiful Louise."
