A SPECIALIST police unit has been brought in to tackle thugs racing through North Glasgow streets despite current lockdown laws in place.
The North Glasgow sub-division revealed they have enlisted the help of the specialist Divisional Violence Reduction Unit to tackle the issue.
The specialist unit is deployed to target crime hotspots across the city with officers reporting a drop in crime in three-quarters of the key zones they attend.
That unit will now work in the North Glasgow area to catch those on quad and trail bikes racing in streets and open spaces.

It comes after we reported this week that residents had reported an increase in speeding quad bikes along the paths and walkways around the Forth and Clyde Canal.
We also previously reported that people were illegally riding quad bikes in Bishopbriggs.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We've had numerous reports of quad/trail bikes racing around our streets and open spaces.
"Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and as such along with our officers we have enlisted the assistance from Divisional Violence Reduction Unit. Stay Home Save Lives."
