ANOTHER two schools in Renfrewshire will require pupils to self-isolate at home following confirmed positive Covid-19 cases.

Contract tracing is currently underway at Castlehead High School in Paisley and  Kirklandneuk Primary School in Renfrew.

Renfrewshire Council confirmed that there has been no evidence of transmission within either of the schools.

On Twitter, the council wrote: "We can confirm Covid19 NHS Test and Protect contact tracing is today underway at @CastleheadHS & @kirklandneukps.

"All parents and carers with a child at these schools have been contacted via text message with a letter from @NHSGGC to make them aware.

"We have worked with NHS to identify any close contacts. Those individuals are being contacted directly to ask they self-isolate. Only those affected will be contacted. All other pupils and staff should attend school as normal.

"The NHS public health team advise there is no evidence of transmission within schools themselves, that robust control measures are in place, and the schools are safe to remain open as normal. Due to patient confidentiality, no further details will be released.

"We all have a role to play to stop the virus spreading. If someone in your household develops Covid19 symptoms, please do not send your child to school – you should all self-isolate and book a test for anyone with symptoms."

Earlier today, we reported that St Benedict's High School in Linwood and Gleniffer High School in Paisley both had confirmed coronavirus cases.
