An immediate probe has been launched after a hit and run incident this evening. 

Police were called to the scene of a two-car road crash on Cumbernauld Road at 5.40pm.

Two cars were involved in the collision, including a black -ured Kia and a silver-coloured car of an unknown make.

The driver of the silver car failed to stop at the crash and fled from the scene. 

There were no injuries recorded as a result of the incident. 

Police Scotland have launched an immediate probe in a bit to trace eyewitnesses.

A spokesman said: "At 5.40pm tonight, officers were called to the report of a road traffic crash on Cumbernauld Road in Glasgow which had taken place a short time earlier.

"Two vehicles were involved - a black coloured Kia car and a silver or grey coloured car. No injuries were reported.

"The driver of the silver/grey coloured car failed to stop following the crash and enquiries into the matter are ongoing.

"Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to call Police Scotland on the 101 number, quoting the refence number 2469 9/12."
