A CARE home in Maryhill has seen a total of 25 cases of Covid-19 as residents and staff test positive for the virus.

A total of 15 residents and 10 employees at Wyndford Locks have received positive results of coronavirus

HC-One, the company who own the home, said all the residents who tested positive for coronavirus resided within one of four buildings, and many of them have reached day 10 of their isolation period.

The most recent round of testing returned no new positive cases, as of today.

All 10 employees who have the virus are self-isolating at home.

A spokeswoman for the care home said: “The home is managing an outbreak, which is contained to one of the four separate buildings at the home.

"The recent round of testing returned no new positive results and we are doing everything we can to support all our residents to return to good health, which is our absolute priority.

“We are taking all steps to minimise the spread of the virus including caring for residents in their rooms, continuing to restrict staff movement and focusing on high standards of infection control.

“We are grateful for how our frontline colleagues have stepped up to manage the outbreak and we have a range of additional measures in place to support all colleagues, including access to online GPs, mental health support, and a dedicated colleague helpline available seven days a week.

“We are monitoring the situation closely and the team continues to work hard to respond to the outbreak.”
