Loud pops and bangs could be heard across Glasgow as Rangers fans celebrated their first title win in 10 years.

Describing the noises as "pure torture", one person wrote:  "After the disgraceful scenes in #Glasgow over the weekend, who agrees that we should #ban #fireworks for sale to the general public in #Scotland?

"I hope the #SNP is going to act on this now. This is pure torture to all of us with #dogs or other pets."

Another added: "Halfway through a Sunday walk and have had to deal with an absolutely terrified dog because every mouth-breather in Glasgow has decided to set off fireworks in the middle of the day.

"Ban fireworks."

Another resident wrote: "Seriously, f**k football in Glasgow! Put up with it my whole life, and yesterday was the last straw!

"Fireworks, sirens, choppers, mass gatherings, and this is when they win! Sick of the city being taken hostage by scarf-wearing man-children every time a game is on. #ScotlandsShame"

Hundreds of officers and helicopters were drafted to George Square after fans descended into the city centre to celebrate the win.

A total of 28 people were arrested for acts of disorder and seven fined while officers were subjected to assault.
