A DRIVER has been cleared of mowing down a 64-year-old woman with her car.
Natasha Comaskey was accused of deliberately driving into Catherine McLaughlin in Glasgow’s Gorbals on July 12 2019.
The 30-year-old was further alleged to have kept a wheel of the car on Miss McLaughlin’s leg for “a couple of minutes” before taking off.

A jury at Glasgow Sheriff Court found her not proven on the charge of assaulting Miss McLaughlin to her severe injury, permanent impairment, permanent disfigurement and danger of life.
But, Comaskey was convicted of assaulting Miss McLaughlin’s nephew Steven Wishart by driving at him which forced him to take evasive action to avoid collision.
Campbell Porter, defending, said: “She has no previous convictions and has been convicted of a matter less serious.
“This matter will have been one that has weighed heavily on her and is in no doubt of the severity of the charges she was facing.”
Sheriff John McCormick, ordered Comaskey, an unemployed mum-of-three, of the city’s Oatlands, to pay a £500 fine.
