A THUG used a metal chain to intimidate a man during a "terrifying" attempt to steal his van.
The victim's vehicle had been parked in his driveway in the Viewpark area of Uddingston before the thief attempted to steal it.
After being challenged by the owner, the culprit brandished a chain and began to act violently by damaging the van and threatening the victim.

He then fled the scene in a taxi and was dropped off nearby.
Police Scotland are now appealing to the publiv for CCTV and dashcam footage in a bid to trace those responsible.
A spokesman said: "We'd encourage anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have CCTV and dashcam footage to please contact 101 quoting incident number 2098 of 14/03/21.
"Please share, thank you."
