UPDATE: Officers have confirmed a gun was discovered in the grounds of the former pub
A SUSPICIOUS item was found close to the former Talisman pub in Springburn, sparking a police enquiry.
Police confirmed that a suspect item was discovered at an address in Balgrayhill Road yesterday afternoon. The force would not confirm what the object was but said enquiries were ongoing.
An eyewitness said that police had remained at the site of the former Talisman pub until around 5pm after the discovery was made.
We told previously how demolition work on the notorious ruined boozer finally began at the end of last month.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Around 3.40pm on Thursday, April 8, police were called following the discovery of a suspicious item in a building in Balgrayhill Road, Glasgow. Officers attended and the item was safely removed. Enquiries are continuing."
