CARDONALD Cat and Dog Home is set to re-open to the public for the first time in over a year.

The Scottish SPCA will be allowing pet lovers access on an appointment only basis as of Monday, May 17.

Since March 2020, the animal welfare charity has been rehoming animals online. This will remain the default except for those who do not have internet access.

Appointments will allow them to look at suitable animals via a tablet and get any assistance to complete a form from a member of staff. The centre will be open from 1 - 3.30pm from Friday to Monday for appointments.

Katrina Cavanagh, who is the assistant manager at the centre, said: “We’re delighted to start welcoming people back to our centre. We really hope these telephone appointments for rehoming will make the centre more accessible for everyone.”
