DETECTIVES investigating the death of a young man who fell out of a window in the city's Merchant City have said there is no suspicious circumstance surrounding the incident. 

The force said that they have carried out their enquiries into the death also revealing the man was just 24-years-old. 

The man died in hospital on Sunday after he fell from a seventh-floor window at an address in Ingram Street at the corner of Hutcheson Street. 

Earlier today, floral tributes with messages of condolence were left outside the block of flats where the incident happened.

Police Scotland said a report will now be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “About 10.15 pm on Sunday, May 30, officers were called to the report of a man having fallen from a window at an address in Ingram Street, Glasgow. 

"Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he later died.

"Enquiries have been carried out and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
