ACTOR Martin Compston has called out a sectarian troll who sent him abuse on the first day of Scotland's new football season.

The Scottish Sun reports that The Line of Duty star was was called a 'T*** parasite' by a Twitter user who has since deleted the Tweet.

It comes after Compston, 37, tweeted about Celtic's performance in their 2-1 defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle Stadium last night.

Greenock-born Compston, who is a Celtic fan, said: "No complaints. Have all the possession ye want outwith a right back individual goal never created a thing til 93rd minute.

"Defence a shambles as per, blame lies squarely with the board had a CM startin CB on/off for 4 yr now. Getting blanked in the ballot a kindness at this point."

Just minutes later, it is claimed that the Twitter user said: ""F*** up polis, 2 in a row ya t**g parasite."

Compston called out the troll out in front of his over half a million followers.

He said: ""=Day one of the season. Fair play it’s tradition get the anti-Catholic sentiment out early, set yer stall out."

The tweet has since been removed.
