FOOTBALL fans attending Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox have been told they need vaccine proof to enter the stadium.

Rangers Football Club has released a new statement, following the First Minister's announcement yesterday.

It read: "Ahead of Sunday’s match against Hibernian, we once again highlight the introduction of vaccine certificate checks across Scotland.

"Sunday’s game is a 'test event' and thus, we are required by law, to carry out the same procedures as when the 'grace period' is over.

"For the avoidance of doubt, following legislation introduced by the Scottish Government, everyone attending matches at Ibrox Stadium must be fully vaccinated and everyone must bring proof of this status with you to the match, unless exempt.

"Those exempt for medical reasons or due to participation in vaccine trials are asked to carry an official letter to confirm this."

We previously reported that the vaccine passport scheme will come into force on Friday, as confirmed by Nicola Sturgeon yesterday.

The Covid status app will go live on Thursday where people can download a QR code to prove their status.

However, she said there would be a two week grace period for business before any enforcement action is taken for non-compliance to allow them to get procedures in place.
