Aldi’s supermarket sweep is back and better than ever with Rutherglen shoppers now being invited to apply.
Customers are being given the opportunity to ‘go wild in the aisles’ to raise as much money as possible for a local food bank charity.

One lucky shopper will have the chance to complete a five-minute ‘trolley dash’ to take home as many products as they can grab, while Aldi promise to donate the cash value of the trolley’s contents to a foodbank charity.
Taking the challenge even further, the shopper will be asked to find a list of three specific Scottish products to be in with the chance of doubling Aldi’s cash donation as well as taking home a special buy item of their choice.

Richard Holloway, Regional Managing Director for Scotland, said: “The Supermarket Sweep is a hugely popular event in the Aldi calendar, and we are thrilled to bring the competition back this year and offer one local Rutherglen resident the chance to win a shopping experience like no other.
“We know how much foodbanks have struggled during the pandemic, and because we had to pause Supermarket Sweep last year, we thought we’d offer to double the cash donation if contestants can find certain Scottish products during their dash around the store.
Participants will be asked to nominate their chosen food bank when applying to take part and all entrants must be over 18 years old.
Applications are open from 25 to 31 October with the event held at the Harriet Street shop on 14 November.
