A 79-year-old woman has been left seriously injured after she was struck down by a car in Coatbridge this week.
At around 6 pm on Wednesday, December 15 the woman was hit by the vehicle as she attempted to use a pedestrian crossing on Coatbank street near to its junction with the Faraday Retail Park.

A 42-year-old man was driving the car which is described as a silver Peugeot 208.
Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to the University Hospital, Wishaw but later transferred to University Hospital, Glasgow.
Hosptial staff have described her condition as 'serious but stable'.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
Sergeant Craig McDonald is appealing for any witnesses to the crash or anyone who was driving on the road at the time who has dash-cam footage to contact his office through 101 with reference number 2620 of 15 December.
