THE roads around Hampden Park have been described as being "utter chaos" last night as fans didn't arrive home until hours after a concert.

Ed Sheeran was playing at the Southside Stadium as part of his Mathematics tour.

Despite the gig finishing at around 10.30pm, some people say they didn't arrive home until 1am.

Fans were warned to plan in advance due to a reduced train timetable, and two roads beside the stadium being closed.

It had previously been announced that there would be no trains heading back to Glasgow city centre from Mount Florida after the show.

Hundreds of people made the decision to park in the local area, which caused "chaos" after the gig had finished.

Fans took to Twitter following the "utter shambles".

A nearly resident revealed their street was at a standstill, despite the gig finishing "ages ago".

One person who got in touch with the Glasgow Times said: "We left the gig as soon as it finished.

"It took us 10 minutes to walk back to the car which we parked in a local street because there was a lack of public transport. Despite living 20 minutes away from Hampden we didn't get home until 1am.

"We were stuck on one street for over an hour, with barely any movement at all. Most of us had put our engines off due to not going anywhere.

"After getting out onto the main roads nearly an hour and a half after the concert finished, the traffic was still gridlocked. Every minute or so all you could hear was beeping."

Another fan missed their bus home.
