AN UNEXPLAINED death has led to the closure of a sports complex in East Kilbride last night.

A 58-year-old man collapsed in the car park on Strathaven Road around 10.10pm on Saturday, July 30, Police Scotland said. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.

Officers are currently treating the death as unexplained.

An eyewitness who was attending an event told the Glasgow Times the club would be still closed this morning as a result of the incident.

They said they heard a fight had broken out, however, this has not been confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a 58-year-old man who had collapsed in a car park in Strathaven Road, East Kilbride, around 10.10pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

"Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage."
