Ghostbusters of Glasgow members kitted out in their uniforms and proton packs were offered the special opportunity to take turns in the driver’s seat of the iconic car.

The character car is a replica of the Ecto-1 featured in Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016), a remake of the 1984 classic film.

A treat for motor and movie fans alike, the Ecto-1 is a modified 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Sentinel ambulance, which is converted into a limo-style car to speed the Ghostbusters around Manhattan.

Stewart Thompson, manager of Riverside Museum, said: “The instantly identifiable Ecto-1 needs no introduction.

“The Ghostbusters car looks right at home amongst the world-class collection of vehicles on show at Riverside Museum.

“This Hollywood favourite is certain to make everyone smile and with its loud siren, impressive speaker set-up and flashing lights we think it will be a real showstopper this autumn.

“And with its links to all things ghostly, it’s a perfect addition to the programme of fun, free family activities we have on offer at Riverside in the run-up to Halloween.”

The museum will host activities such as live ghost stories, a ghost hunt, and an outdoor Halloween-themed fairground and maze that will be onsite over the October school week.

The Ecto-1 will be on show until Thursday, November 10.
