TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Hamilton.

We previously reported that two cars and a pedestrian were involved in the accident this morning. 

Almada Street was closed off shortly after 10.30am. 

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 10.38am today to attend an incident on Almada Street, Hamilton.

"We dispatched two ambulances to the scene, with the first resource arriving on scene within six minutes.

"We transported two patients to Wishaw General, while a third patient was treated at the scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a crash involving two cars and a pedestrian on Almada Street, Hamilton, around 10.40am on Wednesday, March 8.

“Emergency services are in attendance.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "We were called to assist emergency service partners on Burnbank Road, Hamilton, at 10.42m on Wednesday, March 8, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.

"Operations control mobilised two appliances to the scene.

"Crews left at 11.30am after ensuring the area was made safe."
