RESIDENTS are being urged to keep their windows closed as a fire continues to burn in the city's East End. 

We previously reported a large blaze had broken out at NWH Waste Collection near Celtic Park and the Emirates Arena yesterday evening. 

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to the scene at around 5.10pm yesterday and remain at the scene this morning. 

London Road is currently closed onto Clyde Gateway with limited access available to Nuneaton Street.

Access to Emirates Arena is via Dalmarnock Road. 

Residents are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke. 

There are no reported casualties as a result of the fire.

An SFRS spokesperon said: "We were alerted at 5.08pm on Tuesday, June 6 to a fire within the grounds of a recycling centre on Nuneaton Street, Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised seven appliances and a specialist resource to scene to fight the blaze.

"As of 9.24am on Wednesday, June 7, three pumps remain in attendance to dampen down. There are no reported casualties."

It comes after we previously reported a fire broke out at the same recycling centre on February 8 this year. 

A road closure remained in place for four days.
