Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that McAlpine was snared following a police operation.

Prosecutor Jessica McGowan said: "Pictures of McAlpine were submitted to police and CCTV inquiries identified him.

"He threw unknown items repeatedly at police."

CCTV was shown to the court where McAlpine - in a blue Rangers top - was seen to throw unseen items on a number of occasions before going out of view.

He was invited to attend a police station on July 12 2021 which he did.

McAlpine, of Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, pleaded guilty to culpable and reckless conduct.

Miss McGowan requested a football banning order be imposed upon McAlpine.

She said: "The Crown say that you should be satisfied this was a football related offence.

"Although not at a game, it is clearly related."

Sentence and consideration of a football ban was deferred until next month pending background reports.

McAlpine was granted bail meantime.
