UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that two men were taken to hospital following the disturbance.
A street in Rutherglen has been locked down this afternoon following reports of a disturbance.
At around 2:45 pm police rushed to Main Street where they proceeded to cordon off a section of road close to Victoria Place with tape.
It is understood that ambulance crews were also in attendance.
Police officers remain at the scene now as enquiries continue.
There have yet to be reports of anyone injured.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2.45 pm on Sunday, 3 April, to a report of a disturbance in Main Street, Rutherglen.
"Officers are currently in attendance.”
